OoohBoi Elementor AddOns

Image Text Usage Manuals

Image Text addon for Elementor should be installed like any other WordPress plugin, please don’t be confused with an “addon” term!

  • Download the package to the local drive first
  • Install the addon through the WordPress plugins screen directly (detailed instructions on YouTube)
  • Don’t forget to activate the addon through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress

Usage Instructions

Please note that OoohBoi Image Text works with the following Elementor elements and widgets:
Heading Widget and Text Editor Widget

Select the target Widget, open the Style tab and expand OoohBoi Image Text panel. Choose the type of background that you plan to use with you Heading or Text Editor widget. The “Image” type background requires an image to be selected from Media Library. Once selected, you’ll be able to set the size and position of the image. If the “Gradient” type background is chosen, compose the gradient out of two colors, make it Linear o Radial and rotate at will.

The Interface - Controls

Type of background

Can be Image or Gradient. Different set of options is available upon selection.

Text Opacity

The text should be fully opaque, otherwise, the default text color takes place. You can increase the default text color opacity to achieve a blending effect.

Background type "Image"

Choose Image

Click the placeholder to access Media Library.

Image position

Choose one of the presets to reposition the selected image.

Image size

Select one of the presets or make the image size Custom.

Image repeat

The image can be repeatable in either or both direction(s).

Background type "Gradient"

Choose Color 1 and Choose Color 2

In order to create the gradient you must define two colors first.

Color 1 Location and Color 2 Location

This is how you define the transition “softness” from the first  color to the second one. The greater the distance, the softer the transition (Color 1 Location: 0, Color 2 Location: 100). If, for instance, both Color 1 Location and Color 2 Location are set to 50, there won’t be any transition (two colors won’t blend into each other).

Gradient can be Linear or Radial (circular).

Allows you to rotate the gradient from 0 – 360 degrees. Radial gradients are not affected by an angle but rather by position. That’s why a different option is available when Radial gradient type is selected.

How do I translate OoohBoi Image Text to a different language?

First of all you gonna need gettext catalogs (.pot files) editor. My favorite is POedit. For the purpose of translation you can use any other gettext editor. Google to find one!

Open a file named “ooohboi-image-text.pot” which can be found in “ooohboi-image-text/lang/” folder. Translate then save/export two files; “ooohboi-image-text-YOUR_LOCALE.po” and “”.

Be sure to keep your language files in “ooohboi-image-text/lang/” folder!

What exactly YOUR_LOCALE stands for?

Well it’s more like a tag that helps WordPress identify language being used with it. For example, if you need to localize your plugin copy to Dutch, you’ll save translated files as “ooohboi-image-text-nl_NL.po” and “”. If you need to translate to French it’s gonna be “ooohboi-image-text-fr_FR.po” and “”. And so forth.
Check out WordPress Codex for complete list of locales.
